Name That Tune - Why and How?

Earlier this month I decided to get a bit more creative and reignite my passion for the piano through making Name That Tune shorts on Youtube. It’s been quite a while since I had played the piano, so I was revisiting some old pieces that I had used to play or love, as well as some new ones. Wanting to document my exploration, and just have fun, I started uploading them to Youtube.

My first Youtube Name That Tune Short, got over 1k views in the first 24 hours.

I was a tad shocked. I mean, what do people watch?

But then I realised that I am also guilty of the mindless scrolling and the cheap laughs I get from some very simple and short videos (cat videos and flight attendant videos anyone?)

I’ve since been posting twice a day asking people to guess the song or name that tune!

It’s an experiment. It’s fun. It’s a tad silly. But I’m learning so much about alogorithms and social media in general. For example, why does one video get 1k views, yet another only get 4?

Shrug. It’s curious.

I’ve decided to put the answers to these Name That Tune YouTube shorts here on my blog instead of over on YouTube. That way, people can still play along without having the answer spoiled!

So, if you are playing along please be warned that if you keep scrolling you will see some spoilers! All the answers below!!

Updated each Monday 🙂
